Teen Adulting 101 is a community program designed to help teens build confidence, independence, and practical skills they can use throughout life.

Programs

We are always working with our partners to offer new programs, and those that are popular will be scheduled as needed! Here are some that we are working on:
Basics of Sewing

Learn how to safely use a sewing machine while

mastering basic stitches, hemming, repairing

clothing, replacing buttons, and creating simple projects. A valuable skill that saves money and builds confidence.

Basics of Cooking

Learn essential kitchen safety, food preparation,

meal planning, and how to prepare simple,

nutritious breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and

snacks. Perfect for teens preparing for greater

independence.

Basics of Banking & Finance

Learn how bank accounts work, debit

and credit cards, budgeting, saving, interest,

online banking, avoiding scams, and

making smart financial decisions. A great

first step toward financial independence.

Sexual Health & Boundaries

An educational program led by qualified facilitators covering healthy relationships, consent, personal boundaries, communication, birth control, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), online safety, and anonymous questions in a respectful, judgment-free environment.

Learning About Menstrual Health

A welcoming, age-appropriate program that helps teen girls understand menstrual cycle, periods, hygiene products, body changes, self-care, and asking questions. Designed to encourage confidence and reduce embarrassment through accurate, supportive education.

Outdoor Safety

Develop practical outdoor skills including outdoor safety, emergency preparedness, wildlife awareness, navigation basics, first aid essentials, and what to do if you become lost

Car Maintenance

Learn the basics of vehicle ownership, including checking oil and fluids,

changing a tire, boosting a battery, understanding dashboard warning lights,

and routine maintenance that every new driver should know. Letting drivers know you can’t always rely on cell service.

Basics of Your First Job

Learn first job search strategies from the experts at WorkBC. Go through basic resume building and other interactive activities to help gain the basic skills to join the workforce.
